Meet Jeff
Our family has been blessed to serve at Burlington Baptist for 23 years. My wife Kendra and I have three wonderful, (but extremely active children), Brett Austin, Brianna Elise, Brooklyn Taite. My granddaughter, Isabella is the light of our lives! We are a basketball family who loves to travel, serve and laugh together!
My ministry has been driven by the verse found in James 1:22, “But be a doer of the Word, not just a hearer”. That way of thinking has allowed me to be open to God’s calling wherever he has led me to serve. Whether in the Heart of Boone County or serving overseas, the joy of seeing people find their call to serve Christ is exciting.
Meet Jonathan:
Hello church family!
My name is Jonathan Brewster and my wife Sarah and I are from Huntington, West Virginia. We are so excited to be a part of Burlington Baptist church!
I grew up in church, and had a salvation experience at a young age, but it never really meant anything to me. I attended church, but on the inside I was far away from God. It wasn’t until high school that I really became a follower of Christ after a weekend retreat with my youth group. I remember feeling as though the preacher was speaking directly to me – and feeling the weight of my sin. Shortly after that, God called me into ministry.
I was blessed with the opportunity to serve as the leader of the Student Ministry at The Crossing Baptist Church for three years before I began pursing my seminary education at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. During this time, I really felt a love and passion for students.
My favorite passage of Scripture is Philippians 4:8, “Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable – if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy – dwell on these things.” I think it is a wonderful reminder of the way we need to refocus our mind the things of God, especially when the things of the world weigh heavy on our hearts.
I am so excited to serve the young adults and students in this community!
What’s up everyone? I am married to the most amazing and patient wife, Tina. We have a combined family with 6 uniquely amazing kids.
I was saved at 8 years old with “Just As I Am” playing in my childhood church, Belleview Baptist. I remained a member there until I reached my mid-thirties, when my wife, Tina and I decided it was time for us to seek a different church. We ended up here at Burlington and it immediately felt like our home.
I have always sung and played music in church. My father was always the part-time music minister, sometimes it was for a few months, sometimes for years. He always kept me involved using my talents for God. (Often against my will!)
During my twenties and throughout my six years in the US Navy, I always felt God nudging me to be more involved in His service. And despite my best efforts to ignore it, He led me to Burlington. First, I became a member on the praise team, drumming some Sundays and singing others. I was then asked to fill a need as worship leader. I prayed and He answered, Loudly!!!
Meet Beth
I am a follower of Jesus Christ!
I am passionate about knowing God’s word and I am grateful to have been raised in a Christian home where my parents were instrumental in sharing God’s love and His gift of salvation. I made my decision to follow the Lord at the age of 9. I have been a part of several churches throughout my life where I have been able to grow my faith and serve.
I love my Family!
My family and time spent together is truly a gift!
My husband Joe and I have been married over 30 years and we have 2 young adult children, Amanda and Evan that bring us much joy.
I joined the staff in August of 2009 as the Children’s Ministry Director, and am humbled by the awesome opportunity to tell children how much God loves them and to help them grow in His truth. It is a privilege to use the gifts God gave me to do the works He has prepared for me.
My name is Jessica Keefe. My husband and I became members of Burlington Baptist Church in April 2009 and in June of 2017, I became the Director of Media & Technology.
I was raised by two loving parents that instilled in me how important it was to have a personal relationship with Christ. At an early age, during a summer GA camp, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior and have continued to grow in that relationship daily.
I have lived in Burlington and the surrounding towns all my life and am a proud graduate of Conner Senior High School. After graduating high school, I furthered my education at Northern Kentucky University, where in 2007 I graduated with a degree in Radio/Television Communications. Clearly this degree plays a valuable role in my position here at Burlington Baptist Church.
Prior to taking my position here at BBC I worked in the banking industry for 14 years, but in June of 2016, I felt as if God was telling me to take a leap of faith and quit my banking job to stay at home with my two sons (now 13 and 9). Nervous and unsure of what was next, I did just that. Looking back, I feel that God placed me in that field to allow me time to grow as a leader and to teach me the patience I needed to do His work.
In my spare time I enjoy making movies with my filming group, taking pictures and crafting. But, most of all I enjoy just sitting down and taking a moment to take in everything around me and remind myself that I live in a masterpiece that God has made.
Meet Joanne
I was born in Dayton, Ohio and moved to Salt Lick, Kentucky in the middle of the 6th grade. Talk about culture shock! I grew up in a Christian home and came to know Jesus at a very young age. I was baptized at 10 and loved going to church and have been actively involved my entire life.
When I began dating my husband, Ken, we started attending Burlington Baptist Church. We were amazed at the love the church showed us. We were married in the church in 1996. I have served in various capacities in the church prior to coming on staff in 2011. I am blessed to be able to work with such an amazing group of people and to serve a wonderful church.
My husband, Ken and I have 3 children, a son (Steven) and 2 daughters (Kayla & Jessica). We adopted Kayla and Jessica from China as infants in 2000 and 2006.
I graduated from Berea College with a degree in Business Management. Prior to working at BBC, I worked for a major retirement services company for 17 years. I love the outdoors, traveling, working in my flowers, going for walks, working puzzles & reading. My happy place, where I can totally relax is sitting on a beach reading a good book.

Meet Eloise
Hailing from Honolulu, Hawaii (my first "hometown") and being the descendant of a Hawaiian Princess, at an early age I acquired an interest in and acceptance of the many nationalities living there. I was privileged to share life with many individuals in our diverse neighborhood. The many scents and tastes of the ethnic cuisine still linger with me to this day.
After a few years, leaving the island life, our family settled in rural South Shore, Kentucky (my second" hometown") where my Dad's parents resided. Here, I was introduced to a one-room schoolhouse for a short period of time. Also, at this point in life, I learned the work ethic by helping my Grandpa pick vegetables on the farm and riding into town in his "1950- something" red pickup truck to peddle them. My grandparents were an example to me because of their dedication to God and always living out their faith.
While in middle school, at the age of thirteen, I attended a summer church camp . At this time I realized that I needed to do more than just be a" participant" in my church's youth group--- there was a hunger for something more fulfilling in my life. It was then that I made the most important decision of my lifetime-- to accept Jesus as Savior and follow him.
My high school years were spent at McKell where Jesse Stuart, a Kentucky author, served as its Principal years ago. Because of special teachers and many other individuals "pouring" into my life, I felt the call to enter the field of Education. After graduating, I left the "small town" of South Shore for the "big city" of Richmond, Kentucky to pursue my studies at Eastern Kentucky University.
Several years later, I would meet my future husband, Tom at the Student Union Grill. Yes, he chose to date the "shorter girl" and the rest is history.... we were wed about a year later.
We relocated to Northern Kentucky, where I would attend Northern Kentucky University earning my BA and MA (Education).
We were blessed with our fine children a few years later -- Thomas Scott and Melanie Marie.
My Elementary Education degree led me to several positions over the course of thirty-seven years in the Boone County School System.
More than thirty-five years ago, I accepted an invitation from a "dear" lady to attend BBC and that has made all the difference in my life. My passion is teaching youth Sunday School, chaperoning youth trips, and participating in U.S. / International Missions. It's amazing to see our great youth serving the Lord and growing in their faith.
Now in my part-time role as an office assistant, I am happy to help and serve our church family and community.
It is only because of Christ, that in my lifetime, I've accomplished the tasks placed before me. My favorite Scripture, John 15:5, is the core of my life:
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit: apart from me, you can do nothing.
When you don't find me in the office on Fridays, you can find me traveling, chauffeuring, hunting for a bargain, dining out with friends /family, trying new recipes(especially for my Connections Group), or having fun with my grandchildren, Preston and Bailey.
