Like a lot of folks in the Greater Cincinnati and N.Ky. area, my parents came North from Bowling Green, Ky. in the 50’s. I was born in 1959 and I was blessed to have parents who taught me about Jesus at an early age.
Along with a strong Christian background, I also had the blessing of being from a musical family. It seemed like singing and playing music was an everyday occurrence at the Holland home.
I met my wife of almost 40 years in church. We are blessed with two wonderful daughters. We also have four grandchildren.
My life has been a bit of an adventure to say the least. God has always been present, closer than a brother. It’s by His grace and love I am blessed to serve in such a wonderful church. I would like to personally invite you to come join us!!!
Our family has been blessed to serve at Burlington Baptist as the Student and Family Pastor for 18 years. My wife Kendra and I have three wonderful, (but extremely active children), Brett Austin (University of the Cumberlands), Brianna Elise (Junior at Randall Cooper), Brooklyn Taite (Freshman at Randall Cooper). We are a basketball family who loves to travel, serve and laugh together!
My ministry has been driven by the verse found in James 1:22, “But be a doer of the Word, not just a hearer”. That way of thinking has allowed me to be open to God’s calling wherever he has led me to serve. Whether in the Heart of Boone County or serving overseas, the joy of seeing students find their call to serve Christ is exciting.
I am a follower of Jesus Christ!
I am passionate about knowing God’s word and I am grateful to have been raised in a Christian home. My father served as a part time Minster of Music, and both parents were instrumental in sharing with me God’s love and His gift of salvation. This lead me to a decision to follow the Lord at the age of 9. I have been a part of several churches throughout my life where I have been able to grow my faith and serve.
I love my Family!
My husband Joe and I have been married for almost 30 years. We have 2 young adult children, Amanda and Evan that bring us much joy! My family and time spent together is truly a gift.
I appreciate my path to full-time ministry!
I graduated college with a degree in Accounting and pursued a career. When our daughter was 2 years old, I became a stay at home mom. Serving as a volunteer in children’s ministry and various ministry areas has been a priority of mine since I was in high school. I joined the staff in August of 2009 as the Children’s Ministry Director, and am humbled by the awesome opportunity to tell children how much God loves them and to help them grow in His truth. It is a privilege to use the gifts God gave me to do the works He has prepared for me.
Some of my favorite things!
I love: ice tea, my golden retriever Jax, HGTV, the beach, my cat Bensen, decorating, Mexican and Italian food, laughter, travel and music.
I surrendered my life to Jesus when I was 8 years old. I remember asking my dad a lot of questions and then I made it public before the church (My dad was the pastor). I was so excited and couldn’t wait to be Baptized! When I was 20, God gave me the opportunity to serve Him in the Philippines for the summer and when I came back, I knew He was calling me to Full Time Vocational Ministry. For 30 years, I struggled with trying to discern His timing or even if I was hearing His voice clearly. During that time of waiting, I served in Student Ministry as part time staff and as a servant leader. Recently, I served at Fivestones Church in Waxhaw, NC as an Elder and lead the 7th & 8th grade middle school ministry until God led us back to KY in 2017. Finally, God revealed to me that it was time and I’ve been serving at Burlington Full Time since February, 2017. I have a sincere desire to love, disciple, and pastor students and adults alike. I find it to be an absolute honor and privilege to be God’s hands and feet in this endeavor.
I primarily grew up in Kentucky, but lived in several places as I was raised in a Pastor’s home. My mom and dad were missionaries to Paraguay, South America when I was 6. I graduated from George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, KY and graduated from Northern Kentucky University.
I’ve been married to my amazing wife, Kathy for 28 years and each year keeps getting better! I’m a blessed man as she is an extremely patient woman?. We love serving together investing in other couple’s marriages and putting events together. God also blessed us with two children. Kyle, 25 and Paige, 22
I was born in Dayton, Ohio and moved to Salt Lick, Kentucky in the middle of the 6th grade. Talk about culture shock! I grew up in a Christian home and came to know Jesus at a very young age. I was baptized at 10 and loved going to church and have been actively involved my entire life.
When I began dating my husband, Ken, we started attending Burlington Baptist Church. We were amazed at the love the church showed us. We were married in the church in 1996. I have served in various capacities in the church prior to coming on staff in 2011. I am blessed to be able to work with such an amazing group of people and to serve a wonderful church.
My husband, Ken and I have 3 children, a son (Steven) and 2 daughters (Kayla & Jessica). We adopted Kayla and Jessica from China as infants in 2000 and 2006.
I graduated from Berea College with a degree in Business Management. Prior to working at BBC, I worked for a major retirement services company for 17 years. I love the outdoors; camping, working in my flowers, going for walks & running. My happy place, where I can totally relax is sitting on a beach reading a good book.

Favorite Bible Verse
John 14:1-6: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
What is the best thing about working at BBC?
Being surrounded by the support and love of the staff and congregation.
My name is Jessica Keefe. My husband and I became members of Burlington Baptist Church in April 2009 and just recently, in June of 2017, I became the Director of Media & Technology.
I was raised by two loving parents that instilled in me how important it was to have a personal relationship with Christ. At an early age, during a summer GA camp, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior and have continued to grow in that relationship daily.
I have lived in Burlington and the surrounding towns all my life and am a proud graduate of Conner Senior High School. After graduating high school, I furthered my education at Northern Kentucky University, where in 2007 I graduated with a degree in Radio/Television Communications. Clearly this degree plays a valuable role in my position here at Burlington Baptist Church.
Prior to taking my position here at BBC I worked in the banking industry for 14 years, but in June of 2016, I felt as if God was telling me to take a leap of faith and quit my banking job to stay at home with my two sons (now 8 and 4). Nervous and unsure of what was next, I did just that. Looking back, I feel that God placed me in that field to allow me time to grow as a leader and to teach me the patience I needed to do His work.
I my spare time I enjoy making movies, taking pictures and crafting. But, most of all I enjoy just sitting down and taking a moment to take in everything around me and remind myself that I live in a masterpiece that God has made.
Hailing from Honolulu, Hawaii (my first "hometown") and being the descendant of a Hawaiian Princess, at an early age I acquired an interest in and acceptance of the many nationalities living there. I was privileged to share life with many individuals in our diverse neighborhood. The many scents and tastes of the ethnic cuisine still linger with me to this day.
After a few years, leaving the island life, our family settled in rural South Shore, Kentucky (my second" hometown") where my Dad's parents resided. Here, I was introduced to a one-room schoolhouse for a short period of time. Also, at this point in life, I learned the work ethic by helping my Grandpa pick vegetables on the farm and riding into town in his "1950- something" red pickup truck to peddle them. My grandparents were an example to me because of their dedication to God and always living out their faith.
While in middle school, at the age of thirteen, I attended a summer church camp . At this time I realized that I needed to do more than just be a" participant" in my church's youth group--- there was a hunger for something more fulfilling in my life. It was then that I made the most important decision of my lifetime-- to accept Jesus as Savior and follow him.
My high school years were spent at McKell where Jesse Stuart, a Kentucky author, served as its Principal years ago. Because of special teachers and many other individuals "pouring" into my life, I felt the call to enter the field of Education. After graduating, I left the "small town" of South Shore for the "big city" of Richmond, Kentucky to pursue my studies at Eastern Kentucky University.
Several years later, I would meet my future husband, Tom at the Student Union Grill. Yes, he chose to date the "shorter girl" and the rest is history.... we were wed about a year later.
We relocated to Northern Kentucky, where I would attend Northern Kentucky University earning my BA and MA (Education).
We were blessed with our fine children a few years later -- Thomas Scott and Melanie Marie.
My Elementary Education degree led me to several positions over the course of thirty-seven years in the Boone County School System.
More than thirty-five years ago, I accepted an invitation from a "dear" lady to attend BBC and that has made all the difference in my life. My passion is teaching youth Sunday School, chaperoning youth trips, and participating in U.S. / International Missions. It's amazing to see our great youth serving the Lord and growing in their faith.
Now in my part-time role as an office assistant, I am happy to help and serve our church family and community.
It is only because of Christ, that in my lifetime, I've accomplished the tasks placed before me. My favorite Scripture, John 15:5, is the core of my life:
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit: apart from me, you can do nothing.
When you don't find me in the office on Fridays, you can find me traveling, chauffeuring, hunting for a bargain, dining out with friends /family, trying new recipes(especially for my Connections Group), or having fun with my grandchildren, Preston and Bailey.
Blessed...thru His amazing grace.
Blessed to praise Him and serve Him for more than 50 years through various roles in music ministry. Currently serving as adult Worship Choir director and keys/piano musician in the Praise Band.
Blessed to fellowship with and be a part of the body of Christ at BBC.
Blessed to be mother of two, grandmother of five and wife of a wonderful husband and to live on a horse farm!
Blessed to enjoy retirement from a career in public school music education and to continue to substitute teach young children.
