In 1 Corinthians 12:12, it says, “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” And in verse 14, “For the body is not one member, but many.” Each of us is a specific body part. It sounds strange, but it is a great analogy of the church. In verse 27 Paul says, “Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.” If you read verses 13-27, you will see that Paul affirms the importance of each member. He also declares that we need each member to function properly as a whole body. He says, in verse 26, “And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.”
1 Peter 4:10 – “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”

Media Production Ministry
The Upper Room Media Production Team is an exciting and rewarding area of ministry at our church. The production team is a vital area where you may feel called to serve and use your talents to help further spread the word of God not only to those who attend in-person services but also to those who may be watching us online.
Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” God created each and every one of us with a unique purpose and He equipped each of us with special personalities and skills so that we might be able to make a greater impact for His kingdom.
This area of ministry should be approached with an attitude of love, joy, and faithfulness as we work together to create a distraction-free experience that enhances
encounters with God during worship services and our online presence.

Saving Grace Food Pantry
The pantry began serving the community in March of 2000. It opened as a ministry to the community as the need was seen in the office on a daily basis. By October of 2000, most Bible Study classes at Burlington were responsible for stocking a certain item in the pantry, making the project church-wide.
In July of 2014, the church voted to be the distribution center for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) for Boone County. Food is brought to the church on the second Monday of each month, and volunteers “pack and pray”, getting the food ready for distribution the following afternoon.
There is a monthly distribution of the food on the second Tuesday, from 3-5 pm
The church is still “hands-on” in this process as it is volunteer-driven, and relies heavily on the time and efforts donated by committed individuals. The church is collecting personal care items also so that each family leaves with a bag of these items in addition to the food.
Food Pantry Information:
- There is a monthly scheduled food distribution on the second Tuesday of the month.
- Recipients need to be a resident of Boone County; with a picture ID and a current utility bill to confirm their address.
- Diapers and feminine products are available upon request.
Food Pantry Needs:
- Personal care items such as shampoo, bar soap, toilet paper, etc.
- Monetary donations in honor or the memory of a loved one are accepted.
