Burlington Baptist Church is a mission focused congregation. A large percentage of our finances are given to support mission efforts around the world, here in Kentucky and especially in the Northern Kentucky region. But, we don’t stop there. We encourage every member to participate in “hands-on” mission efforts. We have annual mission trips, both International and here in the USA, as well as monthly local mission events. At BBC, you will have numerous opportunities to live out God’s call as you serve others.

Burlington Baptist Church is participating in the KBC’s, The Gospel to Every Home project.  This state-wide campaign is to get the Gospel to every household in Kentucky.  Churches across the Commonwealth are coming together to spread the good news of Jesus.  We will begin distributing packets door to door in Boone County in June.  You can participate in this community outreach by praying, prayer walking, packing bags that will be delivered to each home, and going door to door delivering the gospel.  If you would like to help distribute packets to homes, we ask that you register using the links listed below.

40 Days of Prayer Guide

Thank you for joining in these 40 Days of Prayer that God would help us get the gospel to every home in our local communities and across the commonwealth.

“When Billy Graham was asked about the most important steps in preparing for an evangelistic outreach, he always answered that there were three things that mattered most: Prayer, prayer and prayer.”1 As Kentucky Baptists cooperate to get the gospel to the 1,728,681 homes in Kentucky by November 2021, we know that we must proceed with the work in prayer, sow the seed in prayer, and then pray that God will do what only He can – produce the harvest.

My prayer for you over these next 40 days is that God will:

• Renew the joy and awe of your salvation
• Rekindle an evangelistic burden for our lost friends, family, and neighbors, • Refocus our priorities to His focus on the harvest (John 4:35-38)
• Revive our hearts and churches

Knowing that more than 81% of Kentuckians were unchurched pre-COVID, there has never been greater urgency to get the gospel to every home!

Upcoming Missions

Mission Dignity:

Mission:Dignity® honors retirement-age Southern Baptist ministers, workers and widows struggling to meet basic needs through advocacy and financial assistance. Through this ministry, more than $8.5 million is distributed annually to help retirement-age Southern Baptist ministers, workers and their widows whose income is insufficient to meet their needs. These men and women have faithfully served God’s people and now find themselves struggling to meet even basic needs. Many served small, rural churches that paid only modest salaries and couldn’t afford to contribute to their pastor’s retirement. Much of the funding for our ministry comes from the direct gifts of individuals, groups and churches in our Southern Baptist family. Through these gifts, recipients can buy groceries, pay a utility bill, or get prescriptions and medical care. Prayerfully consider donating today. Envelopes will be available at the Starting Point Desk and can be dropped in the offering boxes.

Church Wide Mission Trip:

Join us as we partner with our sister church, Lakeway Berean Baptist Church and Pastor Kent Holland to hold a one night VBS on Aug. 6th and a community block party on Aug. 7th. If you, or your family are interested, please contact the church office so we can set up accommodations

Backpacks for Children:

BBC will be collecting backpacks Sept. 1st – Sept. 26th, with the final collection day as Oct. 3rd. There will be a drop off point located in the lower atrium. Share the gift of love and the Gospel with a child in need this Christmas.  Kentucky’s goal is to collect 10,000 backpacks from KBC churches!  Many of the backpacks collected here will be distributed directly to children living in poverty in Kentucky, while others will go to needy children in our partner SEND City of Cincinnati.  For more information and a packing packing list, please visit www.kybaptist.org/backpacks
