Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.   Ephesians 3:20-21

I’m really excited about the next couple of weeks.  I’m excited about having teams taking gospel packets throughout our neighborhoods.  I’m excited about the prospects of church members having opportunities to minister to, pray for, and share about the gospel with those we encounter.  We spent 40 days praying for God to send us laborers and I’m thankful for how He has already been answering those prayers.  We have had about 70 people help us pack the gospel materials.  While the rain may keep us from going out today, we hope to be able to make lots of visits before VBS kicks off on Monday.  I am expecting a big turnout on Saturday morning.  Life groups/teams are invited to go at a time that is most convenient for their group.

I really haven’t known what to expect in regards to this Gospel to Every Home plan but I have been pleasantly encouraged by the participation and I think the Lord is going to continue to surprise us as He calls more and more to participate.  I can’t wait to hear how the Lord uses our efforts in our neighborhoods.  Georgia Sargent said we really need to make 3-5 contacts with people to let them know we care.  I think that is a great idea and as we distribute gospel packets, I think there will be a few areas where we feel like we want to target more frequently and intentionally.  Some will plant gospel seeds, some will water those seeds, and the Lord will bring the harvest.  Yes, a great commitment to the Great Commission will build a great church.

I’m also excited for our outside service on Sunday morning (10:45) and Vacation Bible School next week.  Vacation Bible School is one of the church’s biggest outreaches of the year.  We are going to have numerous children come (registration is way ahead of years past) and we are going to be able to talk to them about Jesus.  Other than last year because of COVID, I don’t remember many years of my life where I didn’t get to participate in or be a part of VBS.  I’ve heard reports of some churches not being able to get enough workers this year and having to set a limit on the number of children that can participate.  I can’t understand anybody who is healthy not wanting to be help with VBS.  Jesus loved children and if we want to be like Him, we should go all out in sharing with them and showing them the love of Jesus.  Please be praying for our VBS efforts and that some children will come to know Jesus in a personal way this week.

I’ve shared this David Platt quote a few times but David said, “Every saved person this side of heaven owes the gospel to every lost person this side of hell.”  I want us to be faithful stewards of the gospel that the Lord has entrusted to us.  I’m certain that God will not only bless our gospel efforts but will do more than we even expect.  Please pray for the efforts and I hope you are planning on participating.  Maybe we can go out together and distribute gospel packets in your neighborhood?  Let me know and I’ll be glad to go with you.  I want to thank the Lord in advance for how He is going to move amongst us this summer.  To God be all the glory!
