For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  Luke 2:11

Merry Christmas Burlington Baptist!  We are thankful to get to celebrate Christmas with you again this year.  We are looking forward to gathering together on Christmas Eve to sing songs of praise regarding the birth of our Lord Jesus, read the Christmas story, observe communion, and be able to repeat the sounding joy that a Savior was born.

We were able to travel to western Kentucky on Wednesday and deliver some of the supplies you brought in.  We dropped off the shovels, rakes, gloves, flashlights, etc. to Zion’s Cause Baptist Church in Benton, KY.  That church is hosting the disaster relief teams while they work in that area.  The path of the tornado is hard to describe.  There is so much destruction and yet there are so many people trying to help.  We ran into Pastor Scott Penick who was working with the Kentucky’s Disaster Relief chainsaw crew.  Scott pastors a church, New Harmony Baptist Church, in the Benton area and his church is out trying to serve and love their community.  We were able to give him a bag of gift cards to help with some of the immediate needs of his community.  We are making contacts with some of the churches in the area to see where we can help.  There will be opportunities to serve for months to come in that area.

Despite having to continue to deal with the pandemic, the Lord has blessed us with a terrific year as a church.  At our December members meeting, it was so encouraging to see the list of people the Lord has added to our church in 2021.  We have had 50 people join and over 30 baptisms this year and we give praise to God for His blessings.  We have lots of men growing spiritually in our “Every Man A Warrior” groups.  We have been blessed financially and again I’m so thankful for the church’s generosity to help those devastated by the tornados in western Kentucky.  Also, I think we are on track to reach our Lottie Moon Christmas offering goal of $21,000.  So far, we have received $17,913 so we are just a little over $3,000 away.

I want to thank you again for the way you love and encourage Jenny and I.  We are looking forward to 2022.  We can’t wait to see what God has in store for us as we ask Him to save many in 2022 and once again ask Him to specifically save “one” who we know and love.  I want you to prayerfully consider who you can pray for in 2022 that God might save them and even use you to be a gospel witness to them.

As we work together as a church body, I believe we can have a tremendous impact on our community and beyond.  I’m looking forward to continuing to take the gospel to every home in our community in 2022.  I know the Lord will bless our faithfulness as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission.  It is exciting to see visitors each week.  May we continue to invite our neighbors and point them to Jesus every opportunity we get.    We want to continue to be faithful in making disciples and I hope you will be intentional about your spiritual growth next year.

Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas and the reason that we are compelled to reach our community and the world with His love, mercy and grace.  Thank you, Burlington Baptist, for your love, support, encouragement and just everything you do for me and my family.  God has called together a special group of people here at Burlington Baptist and it is an honor and privilege to serve as your pastor.  Our family wants to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and we pray for God’s special blessings for you in 2022.  Come let us worship and adore Him, Christ our Lord!

Lots of love in Christ,

Bro. Harold & Jenny
